L.C. Smith Field Grade 2 Barrel Set, CAL: 12GA, MFG: 1928-29, SN: 120737, Break Action SxS Shotgun, 30'' & 26'' damascus barrels. The second set of barrels & forearm are both SN matching. The checkered, round pistol grip wood stock with inlayed ebony tip forearms are good. They display surface scrapes contusions, nicks & dings with added oils. The wood at the base of the wrist & receiver has been bruised & darkened. The fingerprint Damascus pattern is still visible with what appears to be a flaking layer varnish over the set of 30'' barrels. The 30'' barrels also have some sort of dried material along part of the seams of the underside of barrels. Not sure of purpose as they appear tight. The 26'' barrels are toning to a thin brown patina. The case-hardened receiver has only shadows & outlines of color remaining. Bores on the 30'' barrel are very good with normal wear from age & use & the 26'' barrels are excellent. The 30'' barrel holds a single front bead. No bead on the 26'' barrels. Buttstock carries a grooved, black plastic buttplate. DAC: 1 13/16'', DAH: 3'', LOP: 14''. FFL or C&R Req - Value: 500 to 1000
