Werndl/Ferd. Fruwirth, Model 1873 carbine, CAL. 11.4X50R, SN: 710, rotating breech lock single shot rifle, 22 1/4 '' round barrel.. Nicely grained, straight grip Walnut stock, has been sanded/refinished lightly lacquered on full length one piece stock is in fair condition with some scratches/dings age/handling marks throughout. Light crack at wrist from trigger guard up to top tang, wrapping over to lockplate on right side. . Marked on barrel above receiver ''FERD FRUWIRTH'' then further up '' eagle stamp, ''Wn70, Ga, C''. Right sidelock plate has circular stamp & ''870''. Old military style steel buttplate with ''4. T. D. over 2068''. stamped on top. Rear sight is blade with flip up elevator numbered 12 to 14. & 2 to 6 stamped on left side. Front sight is small pinched blade on block. Barrel & other metal surfaces appear in the white & contain scattered light rust on good portion of surfaces. Bore is in very good condition, clear, visible rifling with minor darkening. Retains original cleaning rod & sling swivels in good condition. Unusual rotating lock breech loader. Ferdinand Frwirth made carbine using the Werndl system. The shooter operated a revolving drum to load the cartridge, Antique, No FFL Req - Value: 500 to 1000
