RARE Winchester, Model 1890 1st variation, .22 WRF Cal., MFG. 1892, SN: 14145, Pump Action Rifle, 24'' Octagon barrel. This early rifle has been professionally refinished/restored. The original straight grip wood stocks are very good, with the stock having been lightly sanded & refinished, while the forearm carries an added layer of finish over the original. There are two 1'' grain/stress cracks at the upper corners of the wrist where the stock meets the receiver, as well as a few minor handling marks remaining. The refinished metal blue/black finish rates 98%. The case-hardened receiver, trigger guard, hammer & buttplate all display vivid restored case-colors. The barrel holds a fixed rear sight & blade front sight. The bore is excellent. Crescent metal buttplate. Tight smooth action. The tangs of the receiver need some adjustment after the recase-hardening process so as to make the stock fit flush at receiver. Missing the stock retention screw. The rifle has a very nice appearance & is collectible as a 1st variation WRF rifle. Antique No FFL Req. - Value: 800 to 1500
