RARE Winchester, Model 56 Sporter, .22 SHORT Cal., MFG. 1926-29, SN: 1477, Early 2nd year rifle. Bolt Action Rifle, 22'' Tapered barrel. This rifle has been nicely & fully, professionally refinished. The original pistol grip wood stock is excellent, with virtually no handling marks to the current finish. Stock displays fantastic grain. The restored metal blue finish rates 98%. Bore is excellent. Rifle fitted with an E.R.Weaver 330 M-8 Scope. Barrel carries an adjustable rear & standard front sights. Checkered metal buttplate. ''Winchester'' stamped magazine. Very rare, as only appoximately 1000 ''Short Only'' variations were produced of the approx. 8,297 total Model 56 production mfg during the 4 years. An excellent condition & sharp looking rifle.
