BOXED Winchester, Model 57 Target, .22 SHORT Cal., MFG. 1928, SN: 4283, Bolt Action Rifle, Mag fed, 22'' barrel, with barrel band. The model 57 was made from 1927-36, but the .22 Short only was discontinued in 1930. The original flat pistol grip wood stock is excellent & solid, with very few handling marks to the finish. There is some edge staining on the edge near the toe. The original metal blue finish rates 80% overall, with areas of thinning toning to a brown patina. Bore is excellent, Military style target rifle, with correct Lyman peep sight, factory sling swivels & ''Winchester'' stamped mag. Barrel fitted with a folding leaf rear & blade front sight. Stock carries a checkered steel buttplate. Come in the correct, nearly 100 year old, factory box, with dividers & paper wrap. An very nice rifle & very collectible with its original box.* FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 2500 to 3500
