Winchester, Model 1890 2nd variation, .22 SHORT Cal., MFG. 1894, SN: 31201, Pump Action Rifle, 24'' Octagon barrel. This rifle has been fully & professionally restored. The original straight grip wood stocks are excellent & solid, not appearing to have been sanded, rather cleaned & nicely refinished. There are very few remaining light handling marks & some darker staining at the wrist. The restored metal blue finish on the barrel rates 99%, 95% on the mag tube. The case-hardened receiver displays vivid case-colors, with muting on the trigger guard & tangs. The barrel holds a fixed rear & blade front sights. The roll stamp on the barrel has been retraced. The bore is excellent & bright. The crescent metal buttplate displays faded case colors. Tight smooth action. Mag tube has LR sized feeding slot. The rifle has an excellent overall appearance, as a restored early case-colored, 2nd variation, Short only rifle. Antique No FFL Req. - Value: 800 to 1500
