Description

Japanese O-wakizashi, original length, signed blade on tang, early Edo period late 1600's-early 1700's made blade, 22'' cutting edge, 30 1/4'' in mountings, 1 1/8'' width, 7mm thickness at mune notch. Extremely fine grain steel, with straight temper line and exceptionally well balanced. Very Good polish with some light staining in the kissaki. Fuchi/kashire are gold/shakudo pheasants beautifully done, menuki are horses with some gold accents. Tsuba is iron with pheasant and willow tree with copper accents in excellent condition. Two piece habaki with fine engravings. Very nice complete package. - Value: 6000 to 8000
