Winchester, Model 1866 Saddle Ring Carbine, 3rd variation, .44 Henry Cal., MFG. 1877, SN: 145775, Lever Action Rifle, 20'' Round barrel, Full mag. The serial number is stamped on the lower tang. A staple mounted saddle ring is located on the left side of the receiver. Full-length magazine. Has flip up rear sight & pinched barrel band front sight. The address atop the barrel is difficult to read due to wear & corrosion. The wood stocks appear original & are good, possibly having been lightly sanded & darkened from oils & heavy use. Stocks carry handling marks & small contusions. Barrel, lever & mag have toned to a brown patina, with cleaned rust pit corrosion, The mag has two small dents. The brass receiver has likely been cleaned along its history, but along with & the crescent trapdoor buttplate, have a nicely aged patina with some staining. Bore is poor with some riffling & pitting, Screws in receiver show some buffering or have been cleaned up some with the screw holding the lever being a likely but vintage replacement. The 1866 SRC has a wonderful frontier appearance & are often hard to find in any condition.* No FFL Req. - Value: 7000 to 15000
