RARE DELUXE Winchester, Model 1885 Sporting Rifle, .38-55 Cal., MFG. 1888, SN: 27135, Lever Action Single Shot Rifle, 30'' Octagon #3 barrel, The deluxe checkered pistol grip wood stocks are excellent, solid & original, with excellent factory finish. There is a bit of finish thinning at the carry points, with a few areas along edges of darkening from oil. The stocks have mostly finish only level scuffs & minor contusions. Both the forearm tip & pistol grip have an ebony inlay at tip. The original blue finish is 85% on barrel, with edge wear, scattered speckling & thinning & toning brown in areas. The case-hardened receiver, lever, hammer & crescent buttplate all vivid case-colors. The bore is excellent, bright, with solid rifling. Mounted with an early slide adjusting aperture tang sight, blank filled rear dovetail & hooded globe front sight missing crosshairs. Comes with a Cody Winchester Factory letter validates the above configurations. This is an excellent example of an all original & collectible deluxe & case-hardened 1885 rifle.* No FFL Req. - Value: 5000 to 8000
