U.S. Springfield Rifle, 50 Cal., 1866 Trapdoor 2nd Model ''Allin Conversion'', SN: none, MFG. 1866, Single Shot, 36 5/8'' Tapered round barrel, The trapdoor breech block is dated 1866 over an American eagle, which indicates the 2nd Model Conversion. Stamped on the lock plate is 1865, US Springfield and the spread eagle. Wood is very good, original & solid. Wood is proud to metal fit & appears not to have been sanded. Has much of the original finish, Lots of typical contusions, scratches & abrasions, but well above average for this model rifle. Metal finish is 20% brown patina on barrel with remaining metal parts showing gun metal gray. Bore is good with clear rifling, Complete with original metal ramrod, folding leaf musket rear sight & sling swivels. Has a number 46 stamped on left side of Barrel (possibly a rack #). No FFL Req. - Value: 1000 to 2000
