Savage, Model 99, marked 250-3000 Cal., MFG: 1950, SN: 540831, Lever Action Rifle, 24'' Tapered round barrel. The checkered & capped pistol grip wood stocks are excellent & solid. The checkering on the wrist & forend is excellent & appears original, while the checkering on the cheeks of the stock appears to have been cut at a later time & is also excellent. The finish appears original, with few handling marks. The metal finish on the barrel rates 97%, while the receiver rates 90%. The case-hardened lever displays vivid case-coloring. Barrel fitted with an adjustable rear & tall blade front sights. Top of the receiver has been tapped & drilled, with four added screws for scope mounting. Bore is excellent. The stock carries the original Savage serrated metal buttplate. Sling studs with period leather sling. Action is smooth & tight. Excellent overall condition & collectable.
