Savage, Model 1899, marked SAV. 300, MFG. 1914, SN: 149058, Lever Action Take-down rifle, 24'' round barrel. The straight wood stock & forend are very good & solid. Metal blue finish is 95% on barrel, 85% on the receiver & the case-hardened lever has faded to gray with strong case-colors present on internal parts. Receiver has spots of rust & rust speckling. Shot counter on left side of receiver. Mounted with a Savage Arms Co. adjustable rear sight & period front sight. Bore is very good, with strong lands & grooves. Buttplate is a Savage black plastic replacement. A good looking Savage take-down rifle. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 400 to 800
