Sharps Model Conversion Single Shot Sporting Rifle, 40-90 Bottleneck Cal, MFG Antique, SN 60422, Lever Action, 34'' octagon barrel, This rifle has been fully & professionally restored. The top barrel flat is marked ''Old Reliable'' is in an octagon box followed by ''SHARPS RIFLE CO. BRIDGEPORT. CONN.''. The serial number is stamped on top receiver tang under the peep sight. The barrel is stamped on bottom flat under the forearm 156819. The barrel was factory replaced, likely at the time of conversion & carries no rear sight provision. The tang carries a screw adjusting Vernier tang sight numbered 157755 & a folding gold globe Beach front sight. The left side of the receiver is marked with the two line Sharps patent dates 1848 & 1852 on the right. The wood stocks have been professionally refinished & rate excellent. There is a inlayed piece of filler wood where the sling swivel mount once resided. There are very few tiny handling marks. The right side of stock carries the with case-hardened iron patch box & steel carbine buttplate. The barrel retains 95% of the blue finish toning plum. The case-hardened receiver has beautiful & vivid case-colors. The rifle is fitted with a double set trigger. Bore is very good, bright & with strong good rifling.
