Description

Extremely Rare Remington UMC, Model 1100, F GRADE PREMIER GOLD, 12 GA., MFG. 1982, SN: N-145XXX-V, 2 3/4'', 26'' (marked SKEET) & 28'' Matted ventilated rib barrels, Semi-Auto, Factory custom shop ordered, Engraved by Remington Master Engraver Jack Howard Caswell. Caswell was born in 1917 & work for Remington from 1946 to 50 & again as the Master Engraver from July of 1969 until his retirement in Dec. of 1982. This gun is one of the last he engraved for Remington. Extensive full coverage engraved, with six separate large gold inlays featuring pairs of hunting dogs, grouse, pheasant & snipe, These are not flat gold sticker type inlays, rather 3 dimensional mini sculptures showing great detail & rising above the sides of the receiver. There is a lot of gold here! Additional dog's profile engraved on bottom of trigger guard. The Initial JHC & yr 82 are camouflage engraved into a stump on the left side of the receiver. Metal blue is 99%, Fancy, high grade, fine line, checkered Circassia wood stock is excellent, with lots of figure, original & solid, wood capped pistol grip, real gold factory inlayed initial plate, finish is near mint with only a few very minor finish contusions or scrapes. Bores are excellent, factory ordered fluted holes found on the 28'' barrel 3 inches from end. Original owner preferred to shoot the 28'' barrel with the flutes as it shows the most blue finish wear to about 97% caused by wood forend to metal rub while shooting. Functionality is excellent & tight. Black solid pad, Highest grade available from the now closed Remington Custom shop in Ilion NY. Stunning hand craftmanship.* FFL Req. - Value: 10000 to 15000
