U.S. Springfield, Model 1903 Sporterized Rifle, CAL: 30-06, MFG: 1918, SN: 895575, Bolt Action Rifle, 24'' barrel. The very personalized & custom made stock is very good & solid. with dished cheek & flat pistol grip with finger grooves. The vintage stock is well used showing minor scrapes, scratches & contusions to the thinning finish. The rifle appears to have been previously scoped as there are cutouts on the left side from a previous scope mounting base. The military metal finish on the original barrel & receiver is worn gun metal gray, with black spotting mostly to the front half of the barrel, with 20% original finish on the floor plate & trigger guard. Bore is good, clean & bright but with worn thin rifling. The receiver carries a Lyman adjustable right side mount receiver sight & open holes on the left from previous scope mount. The barrel carries the original rear sight base, but no rear sight & original front sight base with updated blade. Buttstock carries a hardened thin Pachmayr rubber pad. A vintage sporterized of a classic old military rifle. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 250 to 500
