Description

Winchester Hotchkiss, 1882 SR Carbine First model, Cal. .45-70, MFG: 1882, S/N: 12388, Bolt Action Carbine, 24'' Round barrel. 5 round tube mag located in the buttstock. This first model has the original one piece stock which is excellent, having been cleaned & reoiled with very few scratches or significant handling marks. The forend retains a concealed ramrod in the nickel over brass forend trap, which is a feature unique to the 1st model. The barrel & receiver have mostly toned a brown patina with areas of rust pit scarring. The carbine carries the original metal buttplate, saddle ring & sights. Bore is excellent. A very attractive, well cared for example of a unique first version Hotchkiss carbine. No FFL Req. - Value: 2000 to 3000
