RARE Winchester, Model 43 ''Special Model'', CAL: 22 Hornet, MFG: 1950, SN: 28595A, Bolt Action Rifle, 24 1/2'' barrel. The original deluxe checkered & capped pistol grip wood stock is excellent, with a couple of minor handling marks & dings. Excellent original finish. The factory metal blue finish rates 99% overall. Bore is excellent, with sharp rifling. The barrel holds an adjustable rear sight & ramped hooded front sight. Buttstock carries a checkered metal buttplate. Factory sling loops. Comes with the factory mag marked ''MODEL 43 22 HORNET'' & a repro hang tag. During the 5 years of production, 1948 to 53, less than 63,000 model 43 rifles were produced. Of those, very few were deluxe ''Special Models''. Collector's typically add 100% to value for the deluxe ''Special Models''.
