Winchester, Model 52 Sporter Pre-A, CAL: 22 LR, MFG: 1935, SN: 36507, Bolt Action Rifle, 24'' Round lightweight barrel. The original, checkered, cheeked & capped pistol grip wood stock is excellent, with minor handling marks & dings to the original finish. The checkering is excellent & the stock carries the ebony forend tip. The metal blue finish rates 98% overall, but with more wear or flaking of blue located on the trigger guard & floorplate. Bore is excellent, with sharp rifling. The receiver is mounted with the original Lyman 57 peep sight. The top of the receiver has the four factory screw provisions for possible scope mounting. The barrel holds a ramp elevated hooded front sight & no rear sight provision. Stock carries a checkered metal buttplate & sling provisions. Correct ''Winchester'' stamped detachable mag. The floorplate ahead of the trigger guard is stamped ''SPORTING''. An outstanding original example of an early 52 Sporter. Highly sought after & collectible.* FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 4000 to 5500
