Remington, Model 4, .22 S.& L., MFG 1901-24, SN: J300174, 22 1/2'' Tapered octagon barrel, Rolling block single shot rifle. The model 4 was made from 1890 to 1933 in several variation & evolutions. This case-colored, lever release take-down version with the octagon barrel was made from 1901 to 24. The wood stocks are very good & solid, having original finish which has thinned. The buttend of the top comb has a 1'' repaired chip & smaller missing chips, along with other small handling marks on the stock. The original metal blue finish is 80% on barrel. The case-hardened receiver displays the smokey outlines of faded case-colors. Bore is good. Barrel carries an adjustable rear & standard front sights. The stock carries an ''S'' shaped metal buttplate. Remington's staple of a boys single shot rifle for over 40 years. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 400 to 800
