C.J. Hamilton & Son, Model 27 (USA produced version), .22 LR, MFG 1907-30, SN: none, 15'' tapered round barrel, Break single shot rifle. Back in the circa 1906-1940's Cloverine Salve ran ads in comic books & newspapers asking kids to sell their salve & offering awards for so much of the product sold. The prizes include such pieces as this Hamilton rifle, a Red Ryder BB gun, toys & more. One of the first rifles offered in the Cloverine ads was the Hamilton Model 27, making it highly collectible. The factory wood stocks are very good, having its original finish, with few minor scuffs or handling marks. The original metal blue finish is 70%, with small spotty areas of rust. Bore is good. Barrel carries open iron sights. Thin metal buttplate. Rifle is missing the original knurled locking knob which is replaced with a brass screw. A fairly rare single shot rifle. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 100 to 300
