J.P Sauer & Son, Hammerless Shotgun, CAL: 12 GA, MFG: 1906, SN: 117065, Break Action SxS Shotgun, 28'' barrel. Both barrels are marked ''J.P SAUER & SON'' & ''KRUPP ESSEN'' near the chamber. Both sides of the receiver are marked ''J.P. SAUER & SON'', over the screws. Matching SN's can be found on the lower tang, floor plate, left barrel & a partial matching SN is on the forend. Floor plate & left barrel are marked ''MADE IN PRUSSIA''. The checkered flat pistol grip stocks are very good, having been lightly sanded & refinished. There are smoothed contusions, nicks & dings. The forend has a small edge chip repair at the tip. The checkering has been retraced & is sharp. There is an inlaid blank oval silver nameplate on the belly of the stock. The original metal blue finish on the barrels rates 85%, with areas wearing thin, toned to a thin brown patina. The case-hardened receiver has mostly worn to a mix of metal gray & brown patina, with remnants of case-colors in protected areas. Intricate ornamental scroll engraving on the receiver, break lever, trigger guard, forend metal components, screws & barrel rib end. Bores are excellent. The solid matted rib holds a single front bead. Stock has a Decelerator solid black rubber recoil pad. A partially restored quality German shotgun from the early 1900's. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 1500 to 3000
