Remington Arms Co, Model 1894, CAL: 12 GA, MFG: 1894-98, Antique, SN: 109973, Break Action SxS Shotgun, 31 3/4'' Damascus barrels. The solid, matted rib is marked ''REMINGTON ARMS CO ILION, N.Y., U.S.A''. Both sides of the receiver are marked ''REMINGTON ARMS CO.''. The lower tang, floor plate, forend & right barrel flat all display the full SN & a partial matching SN on the forend hinge stud that's connected to the receiver. The floor plate is marked with a double ''OCT 30 94'' patent date, over a ''A'' grade stamp. The original round knob wood stock & forend are good, having been lightly sanded & refinished at one time. There are dings, scratches & scrapes to the stocks & a 3'' crack that runs from the back of the upper tang down the left side of the stock towards the receiver. The Damascus fingerprint pattern on the barrels is prominent. The barrels have worn to a mix of metal gray & brown patina, with remnants of original blue in the barrel creases & on lower rib. The case-hardened receiver has worn to metal gray with a thin brown patina, case-color shadowing & some faint case-colors in heavily protected areas. Bores are excellent. The matted rib holds a single front bead. Stock carries a RA checkered black plastic widows peak buttplate. The Model 1894 was Remington's first hammerless double barrel shotgun, built 1894-1910. There were appx 42,000 made in SN range 100,000 to 142,000. Depending on yearly production, this example was made within the first few years. Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 300 to 600
