RARE Winchester, Model 1897 BLACK DIAMOND, 12 Ga., MFG. 1912, SN: 561030, Pump Action Shotgun, Full, Rare 30'' matted barrel & receiver, Black Diamond, take-down, second variation. The original checkered & straight grip wood stocks are excellent & solid. They appear to have been lightly sanded or simply cleaned & reoiled. The stocks exhibit smoothed checkering, with minor scratches, scrapes & contusions. Black diamonds in the wrist. The metal blue finish rates 80% on barrel & receiver, with 60% on mag tube. Matted receiver top matches barrel. Bore is very good. Missing mid bead, with brass front bead. Stock carries a Winchester plastic buttplate. A very nice appearance on this higher grade 1897. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 600 to 1200
