Description

Winchester, U.S. Model 1917, Cal. .30-06, MFG. 1918, S/N: 382680, Bolt Action Rifle, 26'' Round barrel. This is a nice looking example of a WWI Winchester Model 1917 bolt action rifle. These 1917 rifles were the primary U.S. Army & USMC service rifle used throughout WWI & many saw service during the early days of WWII. The top of the receiver is marked ''U.S./MODEL OF 1917/WINCHESTER/382680''. ''W'' marked bolt. The muzzle end of the barrel is stamped with the markings of ''E/US Ordnance Bomb proof/3-18'' (Eddystone). The left receiver rail is stamped with the ordnance bomb. All components have a gray military quality blue finish. Mounted with a ''R'' stamped (Remington) smooth matching two piece walnut pistol grip stock & handguard with a stacking swivel & bayonet lug on the front band, ''eagle head/339'' stamped on the underside ahead of the floor plate, sling swivels & steel buttplate with cleaning kit compartment, (kit not included). The wood is excellent, with few handling marks. Original early blue at 50%. Excellent Bore. Factory Sights. Correct sling. A nice looking example. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 600 to 1200
