Description

Oviedo Spain Conversion, Model 1916 Mauser, .308 W Cal., MFG: 1916-40, SN: OT-38490, Bolt action Mauser rifle, This rifle is one of approximately 60,000 that was converted by Oviedo Arsenal to .308 Winchester Caliber. Bolt handle, floor plate & trigger group carry different numbers. The original walnut stock is excellent with a professionally inlayed piece of wood behind the bolt. Stock has some minor nicks & dings & is stamped ''6775'' on left side under the bolt. Its carries two small round cartouches & ''22'' on belly, ''43'' on top & ''A'' on left side lower stock. Stock carries a metal cleaning rod. Marked under barrel tip is mfg. name & cal. Barrel band sling & stock mounts. Metal blue is 80%, Bore is very good. Steel buttplate, Fitted with a slide adj. rear sight from 2-20 & standard front sight. Metal buttplate. Overall, very nice above average condition for a M1916. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 400 to 1000
