J.C. Higgins (Sears), Model 583.16, CAL: 12 GA, MFG: 1950's, SN: N/A, Bolt Action Shotgun, 2 3/4'' chamber, Full Choke, 28'' barrel. This was made for Sears by High Standard as a copy of their model 10. The original flat pistol grip wood stock is very good & solid, but with about 70% of the original finish worn or flaking off. It displays other small scrapes & scratches. The original metal blue finish rates 60% overall, with some rust pitting & lots of speckling or spotting. Bore is excellent. The barrel holds a single front bead. Buttstock carries the original J.C. Higgins recoil pad, which has hardened & is deteriorating. 6 shot feeding tube. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 150 to 300
