Description

L.C Smith Hammerless Gun, Syracuse Quality 2, CAL: 10 GA, MFG: 1886-88, SN: 19694, Break Action SxS Shotgun. Choke: F/F, 30'' damascus barrels. Square lug, round breech balls, fine checkering, scroll engraving,& vase shaped ebony tipped forend. The receiver, trigger guard & break lever have a small amount of accent engraving. The checkered round pistol grip wood stocks are good, however there are 7 copper pins in the wood, 5 on the right side of the forearm & 2 on the top/left side of the wrist, which help stabilize & strengthen. There are a few grain cracks running along the top of the comb. The wood also has numerous small contusions & scrapes, with a sliver missing on the left side of forend. The checkering has smoothed & wood carries added finish. The damascus pattern on the barrels is worn, but faint, with areas of brown spotting on the barrels & receiver. Bores are good, with some spotting. The solid, matted rib holds a single front bead. Buttstock carries an original L.C Smith buttplate. LOP: 14 1/4'', DAH: 3 1/4'', DAC: 2''. Antique, No FFL Req - Value: 300 to 600
