Description

Colt Bisley Single Action Revolver, .44-40 Cal., MFG 1898, SN: 176414, 7 1/2'' barrel. This antique single action is in the desirable .44-40 chambered Frontier Six Shooter variant. Only 6,803 Bisley revolvers were produced in this caliber compared to 13,291 in .32-20. The top of the barrel has the one-line address, the left side has ''(BISLEY MODEL)/COLT FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER)''. The standard two-line, three-date patent information is on the left side of the frame followed by the Rampant Colt emblem. The checkered hard rubber grips also have the Rampant Colt emblem & are hand-marked with the partial serial number. The matching serial number is marked on the frame, trigger guard, & back strap. The assembly number ''14'' is on the loading gate. Condition is excellent as original retains 75% of the original high gloss blue. The case-hardened frame retains a lot of case-colors, with the balance having outlines of gray patina. The original & matching number grips are excellent with sharp checkering, no damage & very little wear along the bottom edge. The action remains excellent, & the markings are distinct. Bore is excellent. Antique S/A Colt BISLEY's in this condition & configuration are very collectible & sought after. Antique No FFL Req - Value: 4000 to 10000
