Description

U.S. Army Colt Model 1917 Double Action Revolver, .45 ACP Cal., MFG: 1919, SN: 17815, 5 1/2'' Barrel, World War I era ordered, but arrived after the war. Bottom of strap is marked '' U.S. ARMY MODEL 1917 No. 17 815, ''UNITED STATES PROPERTY & H'' marking on underside of barrel, Standard address & caliber markings, ''3'' inspection mark just behind trigger on left frame, has ''GHS'' on top left of frame (for Gilbert H. Steward Col.). Has Rampant Colt stamping on left side of frame. The wood grips are solid replacements, very nice, with light wear. The screw protrudes the other side slightly. The metal blue finish is 75% & thinning, with factory polish marks still visible on frame. Fixed blade & notch sights. Bore is excellent. Mechanically excellent.
