Nagoya Arsenal, Model: Type 44 Carbine, Cal: 6.5x50mmSR, MFG: 1923-42, S/N: 10869, Bolt-action rifle, 19 1/4'' barrel. The semi-pistol grip wood stock is good, stock has sanded & re-oiled, 3''x1.5'' inlaid piece of wood on right side of stock by cheek, next to that is a faux-pearl star that's also inlaid into the stock. The metal finish rates 50% with areas of thinned worn bluing. Left side of the receiver is marked with the S/N & arsenal mark, top of receiver is marked with a RARE Intact chrysanthemum, & ''TYPE 44'' in Japanese, S/N MATCHED bolt. Bore is very good, bright with light wear & light roughness. Barrel holds a barleycorn front sight with protective ears, & a ladder deep V-notch rear sight marked 5 to 20. Stock carries a steel trapdoor butt plate. Has side sling mounts. A hard to find interesting piece, this rifle was originally meant for Japan's increasing cavalry with it being a carbine with a fixed folding bayonet but later in life like almost all Japanese's weapons it was likely pushed into infantry combat and looks to be a vet bring back with the MUM still intact, thats sadly had its stock messed with. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 400 to 1200
