Spanish Mauser Model 1916, CAL: 7 X 57 mm. MFG: 1931. SN: X9961, Bolt action rifle, 22'' barrel. Two piece stocks appear to have been sanded & refinished w/ oil finish. Straight grip stock in fair condition w/some scratches/dings/gouges throughout both lower & upper handguard. Blued military style metal butt plate with just some wear showing on toe / heel. Barrel retaining about 60% bluing. Receiver showing 65% bluing, both display scattered red/orange surface rust, bolt is in the white. Receiver ring stamped '' FABRICA DE ARMAS - OVIEDO 1931'', left side of receiver shows serial number.. Rear sight is v-notch adjustable leaf with graduating marks from 3 to 20. Front sight is blued inverted '' V'' blade with protective ears on sides, some red rust present. Bore is fair showing darkening with worn rifling.. Mechanical function is good. Matching serial numbers on receiver, bolt & magazine floorplate. Sling swivels present on left side of stock. Cleaning rod is present in good condition, comes w/ bayonet/scabbard.
