Colt, Model 1849 Pocket, CAL: 31, MFG: 1867, SN: 292274, Single Action Percussion Revolver, 5'' octagon barrel. The top barrel is stamped ''ADDRESS COL SAML COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA'' & the right side of the frame is stamped ''COLTS PATENT'' in two lines. Clear caliber marking on the left side of the trigger guard. All matching SN on the barrel, frame, cylinder trigger guard, butt, wedge & arbor. The original wood grips are very good & solid. There are contusions, scrapes & dings to the finish, with some darkening on both grips near the frame. The metal finish has worn to a mix of metal gray & spotting toned to a brown patina. The brass trigger guard & backstrap have a thin aged patina, with some scrapes & dings. Bore is good, consistently rough with intermittent pitting amongst proud rifling. Small brass bead front sight. Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 500 to 1000
