Description

RARE FACTORY ENGRAVED, Sharps 4-Barrel Pepperbox, Model 1C, CAL: 22, MFG: Circa 1860's, SN: 24949, Derringer Revolver, 2 1/2'' barrels. The Gutta Percha carved grips are excellent. The metal blue finish on the barrels has worn to a mix of metal gray & brown patina, with remnants of blue remaining in the barrel creases. The silver nickel finish on the engraved brass frame rates 40% overall, with handling areas worn to brass. Bores are very good, with intermittent pitting amongst strong rifling. Worn bead front sight. Comes in a custom wood case, with cleaning rod. Hammer spring appears to be non-functional. Sharps produced variants of the Model 1. The 1C was the second most produced variant of the Model 1, with appx 26,000 manufactured. The Model 1A was only variation that exceeded production of the 1C, with 60,000 manufactured in the .22 caliber product line. A desirable factory engraved Derringer pistol. Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 3000 to 5000
