Katana. Overall length in scabbard is 39 inches, WWII leather wrapped chrome plated saya in very good condition for age with a few scratches & scuffs in the leather. The blade is 25 5/8 '' in length, in decent polish, with some light rust spots & small scratches along Shinogi. Temper is very nice visible light Notareba (gently undulating waves) with visible nie/nioi. Hada is light Mokume. This blade has been cut down at least two times with three mekugi-ana (onefilled) so any signature has been lost. Blade & tang overall length is 32 7/8 '' The tsuka is in fair condition appears to be WWII original wrapping. Fuchi/kashira are plain brass with no decorations. Iron with gold highligts Menuki . Rayskin under wrapping is in decent condition from 1940s. Tsuka has well preserved Lieutenant grade tassel attached. The tsuba is not signed, very nice pierced iron with aged brown patina. One brass, one copper seppa. The habaki is a single piece plain solid copper. A nice old Momoyama/ early Edo period 1500's to 1600's sword - Value: 3000 to 5000
