J Stevens & Co. Model 10 Tip-up, Two barrel Set, Cal: .32.40 & Cal: 25-20. SN:15924 Tip-up Break Open Single Shot Rifle, 26'' & 25'' Medium half octagon half round barrels, Marked on left side flat: ''J STEVENS & CO CHICOPEE FALLS .MASS PAT. SEPT 6, 1884 ''. Stamping on 32-40 barrel is barely visible indicating polish for re-blue, stamping on the 25-20 appears to have some lettering/numbers re-stamped. Buttstock & forearms appear to be professionally refinished, displaying wonderful American walnut grain, with only light scratches & dings to the shiny finish. The 25-20 caliber barrel comes with a 10 power 1'' Unertl scope (serial #28692) in Unurtl mounts on scope blocks. Scope has clear glass & fine crosshairs, with steel scope caps to protect the glass. There is no is no provision for rear sight, front sight is a small period post in dovetailed slot. The barrel is serial numbered to gun under forearm, with a ''5'' and ''x'' stamped on left side under receiver. Barrel retains about 60% of blue with possible touch up. The 32-40 caliber barrel has a blank filled rear dovetail & adjustable globe with fine post/bead front sight. This barrel is serial numbered to gun as well. Barrel retains 50% of blue & appears to have added finish in spots. Tang peep sight with 1'' single aperture disk, elevation adjustable w/ 0 to 90 increments stamped in left side. The action/receiver/trigger guard & swiss-style buttplate are nickel plated & in excellent condition, perhaps re-nickeled at some time. Bores on both barrels are in excellent condition & shiny. Tight fitting & in excellent mechanical condition. A very nice two-barrel/caliber package, with period scope/mounts & sights. No FFL Req. - Value: 1000 to 3000
