The original finish is still mostly retained. There are a few small handling marks, scratches or contusions, & one larger 1/2'' contusions on the right side of stock. The tip of the forearm has the ebony insert & the edge on both sides of the tip have been reshaped a bit likely due to edge cracks to the tip. The case-hardened receiver has been scrubbed mostly silver, with some outlines of faded case-colors remaining amongst speckled pitting. The case-hardened lever & block display a silver tone, with only the lightest faded case-coloring. Bore is very good, with strong rifling. In addition to the #3 marking on the underside of the barrel, the barrel is also stamped with the caliber marking & another ''3'' under the forearm. Forearm also carries a number 3 on it. The rifle is tang mounted with an early graduated Vernier sight, no rear provision & a globe front sight. The stock carries the original silver nickeled brass Schuetzen buttplate which is worn to mostly brass. Plain trigger. A well preserved original antique rifle. No FFL Req - Value: 2000 to 4000
