Winchester, Model 1885 High Wall Rifle, .40-70 Cal., MFG. 1888, SN: 23435, Lever Single Shot Rifle, 30'' Full octagon #3 marked barrel, The wood stocks are excellent, solid & original with few handling marks or contusions. The original finish is still excellent, with some light thinning on the forearm. The forearm carries the ebony inlay at tip. The original metal blue finish on barrel remains at 85%, with a bit of fading & wear to the edges. The case-hardened receiver lever, block & hammer display muted, but colorful case-colors. Bore is excellent. The barrel carries an adjustable rear & half moon front blade sights. Metal crescent buttplate. The barrel is stamped with the caliber & ''3'' under the forearm. A ''3'' is also located on the underside of the forearm. Set Trigger. This is a wonderful original condition high wall rifle. Antique No FFL Req. - Value: 2000 to 4000
