Winchester, Model 1885, marked .32-40 Cal., MFG. 1900, SN: 88805, Lever Single Shot Rifle, 30'' Octagon #3 barrel. The wood stocks are very good, solid & original. The original finish has worn thin from use, with added oils. There are numerous small handling marks, scratches & contusions. Ebony insert at tip of forearm. The barrel carries 80% of the original blue finish with a bit of brown patina coming through in areas of thinning & along edge wear. The receiver retains about 30% of the bright factory blue thinning with the brown patina pushing through as it thins & starting to tone in the silver areas of wear. The case-hardened lever & block display a silver tone, with only the lightest faded case-coloring. Bore is very good, with some roughness to the strong rifling. In addition to the #3 marking on the underside of the barrel, the barrel is also stamped with the caliber marking & another ''3'' under the forearm. The barrel carries a three leaf folding rear & half moon blade front sight. Crescent metal buttplate, Single set trigger. A nice looking original rifle. FFL or C&R Req - Value: 1500 to 3000
