Winchester Model 1886 (1st Year Production), CAL: 45-90 W.C.F., MFG: 1886, SN: 2930, Lever Action Rifle, 26'' round barrel. The straight grip wood stocks are good & solid, but have been sanded with a glossy coat of finish. Stocks still display contusions scrapes & staining under the new finish. The metal tangs at the wrist sit proud to the wood. The metal surfaces have all been heavily cleaned & buffed to the bare metal silver. There is old speckling or scars from cleaned rust pitting on most of the surfaces. Bore is good, with cleaned roughness. Barrel is fitted with open adjustable rear sight with replaced elevator & a standard front sight. Original smooth metal crescent buttplate. Action is smooth & tight. Not a collectors gun, but still likely a quality shooter. Antique NO FFL Req. - Value: 1000 to 2000
