Winchester, Model 1892, marked 44 WCF, MFG. 1905, SN: 286078, Lever Action Rifle, 24'' round barrel, Full mag. The original stocks are excellent & solid, with original finish starting to thin from use & a thin layer of oil on top for protection. Stocks show minor handling blemishes & one larger 1/4'' contusion on the left side of upper comb & a 1 1/2'' scratch behind the lower wrist on the right side of stock. Metal has 90% coverage of factory blue on barrel & mag, while blue on receiver has thinned to 70% from wear along the natural carry point of the bottom of the receiver. The case-hardened lever & hammer still display faded case-colors. Crisp barrel markings. Bore is excellent, bight & shiny with sharp lands & grooves. Factory adjustable buckhorn rear & front sights, Stock carries the original crescent metal buttplate. Tight smooth action. Attractive little rifle, in the popular & collectible cowboy caliber.
