Marlin, Model 1881 DELUXE, marked 32-40 Cal., MFG. 1886, SN: 12810, Lever Action Rifle, 24'' Octagon barrel, Full mag., The factory deluxe, ''A'' style checkered, ''S'' shaped pistol grip wood stocks are excellent & solid. A majority of the original finish remains with thinning at the carry points & added oils for protection. There are numerous small scuffs, scratches & minor contusions to the stocks. The original metal blue finish has aged & is toning to a lovely plum/brown patina. It is retained with even coverage, showing the most thinning or wear to the receiver. The barrel carries the most blue finish, while the other components have bright blue in protected areas only. The stock carries the original crescent metal buttplate. Barrel carries an original adjustable rear sight & a Rocky Mountain front blade sight. Action remains tight & smooth. Bore is good, with strong rifling, but some roughness. Comes with a Brophy Marlin Factory letter confirming rifle configuration & history. This is a fine example of an early deluxe rifle in high collector's condition. No FFL Req. - Value: 3000 to 6000
