FANTASTIC Marlin, Model 1881, .45-70 Cal. MFG. 1885 (Antique), SN: 8635, Lever Action Rifle, 28'' Octagon barrel, Full mag, The original wood stocks are excellent & solid, with very light finish level contusions. Original finish is excellent, with light thinning at the carry points. The factory metal blue finish on barrel & mag is excellent remaining at 95%, 90% on receiver with striation loss. The case-hardened lever, hammer & forend cap have mostly faded to a patina gray with light case-colors in protected areas. Stock is fitted with a smooth crescent metal buttplate. Barrel mounted with the original Marlin adjustable buckhorn rear & Rocky Mountain front blade sights. Bore is excellent. Comes with a Cody Marlin Factory Records search form confirming configuration & dates. This is a wonderful antique Marlin 1881 in rare & very high original collectors' condition! Antique No FFL Req. - Value: 4000 to 7500
