Remington Model 14 1/2R, marked 44 REM or 44 W.C.F, MFG: 1914, SN:37600, Pump Action Carbine Rifle, 18 1/2'' round barrel. The straight grip wood stocks are good & solid, but do have five tight 1 to 2'' stress cracks where the wrist meets the receiver. The stocks carry the original finish, which has crazed or crinkled from time & use. The stocks also exhibits some contusions, scratches & edge chips, along with darkening from use. The under the buttplate, the stock & buttplate are both numbered 2400. The original metal blue finish is 70% on barrel & receiver, 50% on tube. The majority of blue wear coming from spotting, small surfaces scratches & honest handling wear. Bore is excellent. Original Remington teardrop shotgun metal buttplate. Barrel fitted with an original wheel adjusting rear & standard front sights. Original stamped brass cartridge head inlayed the left side of the receiver. All Remington 14-1/2's are very scarce but carbines are RARE!. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 1000 to 2000
