Description

Remington Model Rolling Block, CAL: ?7mm Mauser?, MFG: 1868-1888, SN: NONE, Rolling Block Single Shot Rifle, 24 1/8'' round barrel. The straight grip wood stocks are good, but slightly loose, as having been well sanded & re-finished. They display edge chips on the top of the wrist, filled or repaired cracks on the heat shield & wrist, & numerous small contusions & scrapes. The metal has been re-blued & is 85% on the barrel with light pitting next to the heat guard, 75% on the receiver with spotting & toning plum. Bore is good, with strong rifling. Buttstock carries a smooth metal carbine buttplate. The rifle is fitted with a modern tang flip-up peep sight, the original slide adjustable rear sight & factory front sight. Sling swivels in stock & on forend barrel band. If indeed in 7mm, history indicates that long after normal production ended, the British Royal Navy during WW1 purchased 4,500 7mm rifles from Remington's left over stock & issued them to the crews of minesweepers & Q-ships. NO FFL Req. - Value: 200 to 400
