Japanese military Arisaka. Model: type 99. Cal.7.7mm. MFG 1939 to 1945. SN:31557. Japanese made bolt action rifle. 26 1/2 barrel. Stock is two piece Japanese walnut that has been cut down, sporterized, sanded & refinished. Its in very good condition, with a few light scratches & dings. Wood to metal fit very is very good. Mum is still on receiver ring, however, is ''X''ed out. Type 99 is stamped in on receiver ring under the mum stamp. SN & arsenal stamps on left side of receiver. Barrel & other metal parts all show normal wear, with some rust speckling throughout & little bluing remaining. Rear sight is graduated out to 1500 meters & original front sight. Bore is very good, with strong rifling. Original sling swivels. Buttstock carries original buttplate. Action fully functional & very tight. Overall condition is very good with all parts original & complete. Japanese Arisakas are one of the strongest military bolt actions ever made & make great deer hunting rifles.
