Marlin Model 1897 Tube Loader, CAL:.22 LR, MFG: 1900, SN: 205968, Lever Action Rifle, 24'' Round barrel, Rifle carries several British & Canadian proof marks on both barrel & receiver. Wood is very good, solid & original with a proof # stamped on the belly *24968 (the final 3 digits match the SN). Original factory finish is thinning at the carry points with several contusions, scraps & scuffs. It has an open hole in stock for sling stud. Metal blue is 80% on barrel, 70% on tube. The case-hardened receiver, hammer & lever have toned to a light brown patina with visible case-colors mostly in protected areas. The barrel has been upgraded with a Parker/Hale realigned bore, which is excellent. Barrel carries an updated fixed rear sight, with folding leaf in an oversized dovetail, while the front is a Lyman tall blade. The barrel carries four screw filled holes from previous scope.
