Remington, Model 4, .32 SHORT or LONG R.F., MFG 1890-1933, SN: 324746, 22 1/2'' round barrel, Rolling block single shot rifle. The model 4 was produced from 1890 to 1933 in several variation & evolutions. The model 4 began production in 1890 as a screw in fixed barrel, but it was change to a takedown with lever in 1902 until 1924 when it was changed again to a take-down screw. It rifle with the take-down screw was produced from 24 to 33. The straight grip wood stocks are very good & solid, having added oils over original finish. The stocks show dulled in areas of wear & numerous small marks & contusions. The original metal blue finish is retained at 70% barrel, as toning brown, with the receiver being a thinner brown. Bore is very good, still bright with defined rifling. Barrel carries a small adjustable rear & standard front sights. The stock carries a smooth metal Remington buttplate.
