Three Barrel Gun Company, Model: Hollenbeck Drilling. Cal. 32-40 & 12 gauge. Action: Break-open double barrel side by side shotgun with rifle barrel below. MFG: circa 1901-05. S/N: 1362 on frame/barrels/fore stock/lower stock tang. The original checkered pistol grip walnut stocks are very good, with nicely figured grain. The stocks carry the original finish, with additional oils. The stocks show wear, thinning of finish, light dings & scratches. The forearm has German silver engraved release latch surrounded with checkering. The case-hardened receiver, top/bottom tangs & action/release all have nicely done factory scroll engraving. Top of barrel is also engraved & marked: ''THE THREE BARREL GUN CO - WHEELING W. VA.'' Barrel retains about 65% bluing with areas worn to the white & some light rust/pitting where exposed. Front sight is globe with circular bead. Rear sight is a uniquely hidden adjustable elevator inset into barrel rib. In addition there is a tang mounted flip-up peep sight that the break action lever is molded around. All three bores are in excellent condition with sharp visible rifling. Hard plastic shotgun style butt plate with anchor near top of plate & embossed dog with game bird in its mouth in middle. Action is very tight, barrel to receiver fit & function is excellent.
