W. Manton & Co., Double Hammer Shotgun, 10 ga., MFG. Antique SN: 29071 on barrels, frame & forearm. Double barrel break action shotgun. 30'' round barrels with a solid matted rib & single bead. Rib marked ''LONDON FINE LAMINATED STEEL''. The original checkered & round pistol grip walnut stocks are well worn, but still solid. Most of the original finish is worn away with numerous handling marks & contusions. Older added layer of finish. The metal surfaces are worn gray with an antique brown finish hand applied over factory engraving on the locks, trigger guard, receiver & base of barrels. Metal surfaces also have some standing rust & speckles. The hammers do not match, as one hammer & screw appear to be replacements. One of the firing pins is also a replacement. Bores are good & shiny, with some light pitting. Stock carries dark brown buttplate with hunter/pheasant embossed & some dings along edges. Double triggers, The action has some play in it. .
