RARE ENGRAVED Remington UMC, Model 11, ''E'' Expert Grade or Grade 5, 12 GA., MFG. 1912, SN: 137030, 27 1/2'' Solid matted rib, 2 bead barrel, Semi-Auto Shotgun, Factory custom shop Master engraved. The fancy, high grade, fine line, checkered, circassian walnut, round pistol grip stocks are excellent, original & solid. Lots of figure & factory inlayed real silver initial plate. Finish is very good, with several small finish depth handling marks, scratches or contusions, which are not distracting. The factory metal blue finish is excellent at 95% on barrel & 90% starting to tone to a grayer patina on the receiver. Extensive high coverage engraved, with game scene vignettes of an English Setter on the left of receiver & flying mallard on the right. Engraving also on the screw on mag cap & extends 5 1/2'' down the barrel. In 1912 Remington's Master Engraver was Joseph F. Loy, but Remington did not allow their engravers to sign their work. Bore is excellent, bright & shiny, with Cutts compensator. Pachmayr White Line brown ventilated recoil pad. Functionality is excellent & tight. Original, factory custom shop engraved shotgun. Excellent early 20th century craftsmanship. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 5000 to 8000
