S&W.38 Safety Hammerless Third Model, .38 New Departure (.38 S&W), S/N: 60871. MFG. 1892. Fitted with a 3 1/4'' barrel, The checkered black hard rubber grips with S&W monograms are excellent.SN on frame, cylinder, barrel & cylinder release latch. All metal surfaces have been non-professionally buffed & reblued, retaining 99% of the current blue. The bore is very good, with sharp rifling. The action is tight & functions correctly. Comes with a S&W .38 New Departure box (no number) for a nickeled pistol, but still a nice period box. Antique, No FFL Req - Value: 200 to 400
